September 2008 Photo's of RailRoad Progress

September 7 & 13. This series of photos shows the mainline trackage put in place to the entrance of Sanford Yard Limits. The switch shown is where the mainline begins a double track section through the curve into the yard.
These photos show ballast work being done, track panel assembly, a switch added to yard and tracks laid to ballast hopper. The last two show a train running on our public run day on the 13th.

September 20th started with the re leveling of the approach to the car barn. Then, track panels, which were removed during the week prior, were replaced and then ballasted.
We also unloaded two engines and a group of riding cars. The Dash 9 engine, directly below, was purchased for the railroad and the RS-3 belongs to a member.
These photos show the grading work completed for the road for our train load/unload area. This will allow trailers, etc. to pull straight through to unload equipment for use on railroad. Final photo shows yet another switch in process.

On Saturday September 27th, many members of the CP&G were at the West Pasco Historical Society for Founders Day.
Meanwhile a crew was at the track to complete the ballasting to the car barn. They also ballasted mainline trackage.
Other work accomplished was completion of the first track through Sanford yard. This photo shows connection made at the north end of the yard.
This photo was taken from the south end of the yard. On the right side of this track our main freight yard will be installed. This connection means we now have a "loop" at the west end of the track. Ballasting and leveling remains to be done.
